Penang, 12 Sept – This mid-autumn was spent rediscovering the lovely island of Penang. The last time I was there was probably 16 years ago so this time, armed with my camera I was determined to see the ‘new’ Penang.
We started our roadtrip in Gertak Sanggul, a small Chinese fishing village southwest of the island. After tucking in on Nasi Kandar for lunch in Lebuh Campbell, we then took a drive to Kek Lok Si in Ayer Hitam before working up on an appetite for some Penang laksa on the foothill. The next day was spent exploring Georgetown along the Heritage Trail. I was deeply impressed with what they’ve done to showcase the rich cultures that Malaysia has to offer.
